Yes - you need to get a sample license to openly pitch/share your beats, instrumentals or other ”work in progress” productions that use samples from Tracklib.

If you sell or give your production to an artist as an exclusive, the sample license must either be transferred to the releasing artist/label – just get in touch via support@tracklib.com and we'll assist – or they need to get a new sample license for the new song directly from Tracklib. If you sell your production as a lease, the releasing artist/label must get a new sample license for the new song directly from Tracklib. Make sure to link to Tracklib when and where you pitch your productions so the releasing artist/label are aware of Tracklib and that a sample license is required to release a song commercially.

It’s also very important that the releasing artist/label register the new song with publishing rights and recording rights CMOs (Collective Management Organizations, e.g. BMI/ASCAP/PRS for music etc.) so that everyone gets paid and rights are respected.

The basic principle is simple: a sample license is required whenever a new production leaves the studio, and before it’s released it has to be registered with CMOs.
